A Pleasant Surprise From Bluehost

Today is a good day.  Do you want to know why?  Well, I went to log into my control panel with my web host, Bluehost, and I noticed some upgrades that I was unaware of — shame on Bluehost for leaving me in the dark.  I’m not in the dark anymore.

My Big Surprise

Last I knew I had limitations on the number of domains, subdomains, add-on domains and parked domains as well as 50g of disk storage.  Did I get a nice surprise today.  Now I have unlimited domains, subdomains, etc. as well as 300gb of disk storage with 3,000gb of site transfer.  One word sums that up. WOW!  All that with no increase in price.  Thank you Bluehost.

Are You Happy With Your Web Host?

I’ve been very happy with Bluehost who have been my web host for over a year.  Granted I don’t tax the servers that much and I find that I must be on a server where there aren’t sites that demand a great deal of bandwidth.  I use mon.itor.us to alert me if my website is down and I have only received an alert once in over a year.  For a shared-server hosting provider I don’t think that’s bad at all.

About 6 months ago I really messed up my website by trying to do a Fantastico upgrade for my XOOPs installation.  I found I had no website, nada, zero ability to do anything.  I called technical support, was on hold for about 15 minutes, connected with a tech who first told me what I needed to do and when he heard the panic and hesitation in my voice offered to fix the problem for me.  He was heaven sent.

I don’t know if that is how others feel about their web hosting company.  Do you find they give you upgrades without notifying you?  Are you using a shared-server solution or do you have a dedicated server?  What kind of services do they offer?  How is there technical support?

Can you praise your web host provider like I am with Bluehost?  I’m not pushing Bluehost because as I say my demands of them that great but they offer a tremendous amount of services (click here to see their offerings) for a decent price. I signed up for a year so it is $7.95 a month.  If I had opted for two years it would be $6.95 a month.

Shop Around

With the amount of web host providers competing for business today if you are unhappy with your provider I would suggest doing some research and see if there is a web hosting company that can fit your needs. Here are a few sites to check out that contain reviews of different kind of web hosts.

Lastly…

I need to mention that I also am an affiliate marketer for Bluehost and the links through to them in this post contain my affiliate code.  If you do end up using them and click through from my site, thank you.

So, are you happy?
