Are You Ready to Get Going?
Back in December 2006 I wrote, Fill Up Your Social Calendar With HeyLetsGo, about a social site geared towards professionals looking to hook up with other professionals at social events in either Boston, New York or San Francisco. I was informed today that HeyLetsGo has been renamed Going.com and will be expanding soon into Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and London. I guess these cities are the current hotspots in the world!
Anyway, I’m not too keen on the new name, Going. I guess it comes from the question, where are we going, but it just feels flat. HeyLetsGo had a nice go get ‘ em kind of feeling like I needed to get out and doing something. I suppose the name will grow on me.
Going has a variety of tools to help you find out what is going on. Events are comprised on Nightlife, Culture, Music and other activities. Find events by popularity, distance, time and view editors picks. The social aspect of the site is what makes Going a great site for anyone looking to meet up with other people around events and activities.
- View who is going or planning on attending an event.
- Talk with those who have indicated an interest in an event. Want to carpool? Message back in forth with other members going.
- Join different group centered around geographic areas and interests.
- Join in on the forums (called Talk) widening the number of people in your network.
Going makes it easy to make new friends and find events and activities to participate in.
Of course since I have joined I haven’t gone to any events though I keep and eye on things just in case… Now with summer coming up though maybe I will get out and get Going. There is a lot going on in Boson these days and I really should start socializing more face to face with people rather than sit at my computer all day and night as it has been these days. I have to ask myself, what keeps me from Going. How about you, are you ready to get Going?
