Keep Track Of Hours and Clients With Freshbooks

FreshBooksIf you are looking for a nice application to keep track of clients and billable hours for your business then you may want to check out Freshbooks.  I’ve been using Freshbooks for the last 4 months to track my hours and invoice the two clients I work for and have found it an easy to use application whose free version fits my needs.

With Freshbooks you can

set up multiple clients and staff members.

track time either by inputting hours worked or using a built-in timer.

log hours for a client by project and task.

  set up recurring transactions.

send invoices by email or US Post.

customize you invoices with your logo.

accept payments with Paypal or other payment processing company you may use.

generate a variety of reports including accounts aging, invoice details and payment history.

import and export data into Quickbooks, Simply Accounting and comma separated files (csv).

share documents with your clients and staff.

Since I have less than 3 clients and only need one staff member (me) to access the program I am able to use Freshbooks for free.  I still get all the features of the program except for unbranded emails. You can see the various plans listed below ranging from free to $149 a month with the ability to service an individual to a large consulting company.

I haven’t utilized Freshbooks to its fullest extent but from what I have used I have been very pleased.  Also, they offer free customer support and have an active community forum.  Freshbooks is definitely worth a look if you are an independent contractor looking for an online solution to tracking and billing customer hours.
