Listen to New Music and Artists at Fairtilizer
Thanks to my friend Phil Butler who wrote Fairtilizer - New Online Music Service I have been exposed to artists and music from around the world. A lot of the music I never would have heard except for this new music site/community. Currently you need an invite to join the beta and Phil invited me to check it out. If you are interested in a Fairtilizer invite I have 4 to go around. Just leave a comment and make sure to put your email address in the field provided and I will send one off to you.
Like Phil wrote about in his post I like the simplicity of Fairtilizer.
- A digg-like interface is used to chart songs, show the number of plays and votes.
- It’s easy to explore music by artist, genre/tags and country of origin.
- Music continuously streams from one song to the next on a page eliminating the need to select each song.
- Creating your own playlists is a breeze.
- Each page has an RSS feed so you can subscribe to different pages of music. Check out Tracks for Folk Music to get a taste of some of the music.
- Easily share a track via email or use the link to embed on your site or blog. I found Ghost Whisper by Neither/Neither World yesterday and fell in love with their sound.
There are some options that I would love to see including
- RSS feed for my playlists.
- more community interaction perhaps through a forum.
- an easy way to download songs, I can’t seem to figure out how to on my own.
- better about us/help/faq sections.
The site currently has just over 900 members and over 1000 songs. For an early beta they are doing well. They have a few kinks to work out and give a link to report bugs which is nice.
I like a bit of the music I have listened to so far and plan on listening to more. Fairtilizer has broadened by music world in the short time I have been using it.
