Review of wpzipper: Custom Wordpress Archives

If you are installing a Wordpress blog on your web host then wpzipper is the site for you. Even if you already have Wordpress installed on your server or have your blog on Wordpress.com just the extensive list of plugins to create on zip archive is reason enough to check out this site. Someone did a lot of work to bring a plethora of plugins together in one list for easy download.This site went live at the end of April and already has had 50,000 plugins downloaded. I just installed Wordpress on my website using Fantastico so I didn’t need to to download the full Wordpress install, I was just looking for plugins. And, boy, did I find plugins. I knew a lot of the plugins I needed because of this blog so I was able to go through and check off what I wanted. There are brief descriptions with most of the plugins which are displayed when you roll your cursor over the name making it easy to know what you are selecting. I even selected a few I had never heard before.After I generated my my zip archive I unzipped it into my Wordpress folder. When the archive unzips it creates a folder called plugins to neatly fit in with the folder structure of Wordpress. It worked like a charm and I uploaded my plugins and activated them on my new site.The site creator is planning on adding the same functionality with themes so that wpzipper will be a one-stop shop for new and existing Wordpress installs.Thank you Noah and wpzipper for making my day!
