Spreading the Word: PodCamp
Are you interesting in new social media like blogging, podcasting or videocasting? Are you currently involved in these activities and want to meet people like you? Then Podcamp could be the “unconference” for you. PodCamp is currently held in various cities (see schedule below) and one scheduled to be held online for Saturday, July 28, 2007.
I have signed up for PodCamp Boston 2 in October because I live pretty close by. I’m looking forward to meeting people who are currently involved in social media and those just beginning. It will be great to be with like-minded people learning, sharing and collaborating about new media on the Internet.
I’m looking forward to meeting Chris Brogan who is one of the founders that I have been following on Twitter (the other founder is Christopher Penn). PodCamps are referred to as UnConferences because there are no keynote speakers, no rigid schedule and everyone is encouraged to participate.
And, PodCamps are free. You can’t beat that. So, go over to the PodCamp Community and check out future and past PodCamps and find one in a location where you want to be. Or, create your own following the guidelines on the site.
