Summer is over, time to get back to work
Sad to say summer is basically over. No more lying by the pool listening to audio books and catching up with people I only see at the pool. Now I need to get back to work. That means clearing the writer’s block that has plagued me for months now and start writing some blog posts that will cover all the new gadgets I have gotten my hands on and new websites and web applications that have made an impact on me. There is a lot to write about.
Part of my writer’s block has been getting bogged down with what Confessions of an Infomaniac is all about. I read post after post by leaders in the blogging field that one needs to find their niche and then write for that market. Well, my problem is that I don’t have a niche to write about. I am not a specialist in anything. I am a generalist. That shows in almost every aspect of my life. I pick things up quickly whether it is about the politics of the day or new technology on the horizon. I make a great dinner guest to fill that empty seat because I can carry on a conversation with basically anyone.
I suppose I could settle on one topic and learn as much as possible and then write about it. But for me that wouldn’t be fun and interesting. I wouldn’t be an infomaniac anymore. And the truth is I like being an infomaniac, a polymath, someone who is not restricted to one field of knowledge.
So, once again, bear with me as I turn the infomaniac in me back on and deliver to you information about things I know and am learning. If you have a topic that you would like me to write about please leave a note in the comments of this post. I would love to learn more…I love to learn!
