Transform Windows XP to look like Vista

I have spent a couple of hours downloading and playing around with Vista Transformation Pack 6.0 and have been having a lot of fun tweaking my computer to look like Windows Vista.  I don’t know if and when I will upgrade my current computer to Vista but I thought I would take a chance and see how my computer would run and look like under Vista.

The first time I installed the pack it didn’t work properly so I removed it and reinstalled and voila, I have a computer that looks like it is running Windows Vista.  I don’t think this application is for computer novices but if you are a bit tech-savvy and want to play around with a new design/theme for your computer then the Vista Transformation Pack 6.0  is worth checking out.  I made a System Restore point before I installed the application.

I love the sidebar with an analog clock and calendar.  Also, when you roll over an application in the task bar it shows a nice thumbnail, pretty neat.  Here is a snap shot of it in action.

I also downloaded the free version of WindowBlinds to give me a 3D and transparent effect.  I’m still playing around but this is what I have so far.

Lastly, I downloaded some Vista Wallpapers I found on this forum post Window Vista Wallpapers.

The Vista Transformation Pack didn’t seem to slow down my computer but the jury is still out on WindowBlinds but it is free and worth checking out.

I’m exhausted from all the tinkering around but I love to play with new things and best of all the applications are all free.
