Virtual Desktops with Dexpot
I am a bit ADHD and tend to work on more than one project at a time when I am on my computer. It would be nice if I had programs grouped by task that I had easy accessibility to using. Today I came across a program that might fit the bill for me called Dexpot. It is a virtual desktop utility for Microsoft Windows that can give me up to 4 different desktops to work with. Nice! What I like is that I can be writing my blog post with Windows Live Writer and whatever web pages I need as reference on one desktop while I am running a report for work on another desktop. It’s like having two computers running at once. Then, I can have a desktop with my Internet Explorer windows with my RSS feeds and web mail programs easily accessible without having to keep opening up certain web pages many times daily.
It’s easy to navigate and manage desktops. You can even tile windows within a desktop. You can view the full screens of each desktop, use the desktop manager or use desktop preview to navigate between desktops.
Oh, and did I say it was FREE! Take a look at these screenshots from the Dexpot website to see if this utility may be of use to you.
