Want to Know the Web Technology Trends for 2006? Read/Write Web Has a Great List
The web is in a constant state of flux these days with new websites popping up by the dozens day in and day out and terms like Web 2.0, RSS and Widgets being tossed into the mix. I try and tag the new sites and deliver them to my readers through my del.icio.us postings but I haven’t really put together a blog post about current trends and what they mean.
Well, I don’t have to thanks to Richard MacManus and his post on Read/Write Web on 2006 Web Technology Trends. This is a great post because not only does it spell out the trends for 2006 but he links back to posts about the technology being described.
Richard gives a detailed year in review and links to great articles such as the Web 2.0 Summit Wrap-up, Web Office update – Google and Zoho make moves and Business Models for Start Pages which deals with personalized start pages and widgets.
If you are interested in the trends for 2006 and beyond I suggest subscribing to Read/Write Web. Richard MacManus is a web analyst and consultant from New Zealand who writes for Znet and is co-founder of the Web 2.0 Workgroup (a network of web 2.0 blogs which expand on the world of Web 2.0). Richard’s articles are always informative and insightful which is needed in the changing landscape of the web.
